Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of Letter Moth: the Chrome extension, this website and the related service (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, installing the extension or paying for Pro you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What the Service does

Letter Moth helps you draft messages (such as LinkedIn notes, emails, referral requests and job-application answers). When you ask it to, the extension reads the part of the page you choose, sends it with your instructions and writing profile to our servers, and an AI model returns a draft. You review and edit the draft, and you decide whether to insert or send it. The Service never sends a message for you.

2. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract, or use the Service with a parent or guardian's consent where the law allows.
  • You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Give accurate information, and don't share your account or resell access.

3. Plans, payments and renewal

  • Free: 10 drafts per calendar day and 3 saved prompts. Unused drafts don't carry over. The allowance resets every day at midnight IST.
  • Pro: unlimited drafts (subject to fair use and rate limits) and unlimited saved prompts. Pro is prepaid: ₹299 for 30 days or ₹2,499 for 365 days, in Indian rupees. It does not renew automatically. Each payment adds time to the end of any Pro period you already have.
  • Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway. We don't see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
  • We don't currently charge GST. If that changes, the tax will be shown before you pay.
  • We may change prices, plans or limits. Changes apply to future purchases; time you've already paid for isn't reduced.
  • Refunds are covered by the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for spam, harassment, fraud, impersonation, deception, or anything unlawful, hateful or abusive;
  • use it to send bulk or unsolicited messages in breach of the rules of the websites or services where you post them (for example, a site's automation or messaging limits);
  • give it content you have no right to use, or personal data of others you have no lawful reason to share;
  • try to break, probe, overload or reverse-engineer the Service, bypass its limits or access controls, or use it to build a competing product;
  • use automated means to create accounts or make requests, other than through the extension.

We may limit, suspend or end access if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken or the Service is being misused.

5. Your content and AI-generated drafts

  • You keep ownership of what you provide (page content you choose to share, your profile, your prompts) and of the drafts you generate. You give us only the permission needed to run the Service for you.
  • Drafts are produced by an AI model and can be wrong, incomplete, repetitive or unsuitable. Read every draft before you use it. You are responsible for the messages you send, including their accuracy and legality.
  • The Service is designed not to invent employers, projects or numbers, but we can't guarantee that. Check facts about yourself and others.
  • Similar drafts may be produced for different users. We don't promise that a draft is unique.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties: Google (sign-in), Supabase (accounts and database), an AI model provider, our hosting provider and a payment gateway. Their own terms apply to their services, and outages or changes on their side may affect the Service. The websites you use the extension on are not ours, and you must follow their rules.

7. Our property

The Service, its software, design, name and logo belong to Letter Moth or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, and release updates to the extension, at any time.

9. Ending your use

  • You can stop at any time by uninstalling the extension. To delete your account and data, write to us (see Privacy Policy).
  • We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these terms, for legal reasons, or if we discontinue the Service. If we end a paid plan early without your breach, we'll refund the unused part.

10. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of drafts, or that using it will lead to any outcome (such as a reply, an interview or a job).

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost opportunities, profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or ₹1,000 if you haven't paid). Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover reasonable losses we suffer from third-party claims caused by your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service, including messages you send using drafts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we'll post the new version here with a new date and, where practical, tell you in the extension or by email. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of competent jurisdiction in India have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
